Olá equipe,
tivemos uma reunião agradável com Di., falámos sobre o seus morangos, framboesas e a plantação de Proteia. Ela deveria ter uma colheita no próximo ano.
MB: Ursula enviou as amostras (Melissa, Menta, Macela) que V organizou ao contato no MBpara análise no laboratório. Vamos ver o que eles dizem sobre a qualidade – temos de manter os dedos cruzados!
Alguém tem Valeriana? V disse que não crescem bem em Madeira, a parte mais importante é a raiz, e dela não cresceu muito bem. O cliente alemão do U está interessada nele.
Sra. T terá uma reunião com o cliente para a Cavalinha na próxima semana, então eles vão oferecer um contrato para N, para plantar ao menos dois campos de teste.
Outros assuntos:
Nós não temos nenhuma notícia ainda do Diario, quando e como eles vão publicar o Manual contra Incêndios. Após a publicação U vai falar com ECM para ver se eles iriam patrocinar a impressão de folhetos para distribuição.

we had an nice meeting with Di, and spoke about her strawberry, raspberry and Proteia plantation. She should have a harvest next year.
MB: U sent the samples (Melissa, Menta, Macela) that V organised, to the contact in MB for analysis in the lab. We shall see what they say about the quality – keep your fingers crossed!
Does anybody have Valeriana? V said that is does not grow well in Madeira, the important part is the root, and hers didn’t take very well. U‘s German client is interested in it.
Mrs. T will have a meeting with the Cavalinha client next week, then they will offer a contract to N for at least two test fields.
Other stuff:
We have no news yet from the Diario when and how they will publish the Fire Protection and Combat Manual. After publication U will speak to ECM to see if they would sponsor the printing of leaflets for distribution.

Det. quis saber mais sobre nossos projetos. Ele tem um ponto: é difícil para os recém-chegados para ver onde nossos sucessos são, e nossos projetos precisam de um longo tempo para vir a ser concretizadas. Olhei aos nossos 40 atas de reuniões anteriores, e aqui está uma lista dos nossos projetos (espero que não me esqueci de nada):
Turismo e Negócios em Geral
Feito: O artigo sobre “O casamento de estrangeiros em Portugal” (eles já não precisam de uma residencia para se casar por aqui – Madeira poderia ser o Hawaii da Europa) foi publicada por Contraditorio em Lisboa e enviado por U a todos os principais operadores turísticos e os grandes hotéis na ilha há cerca cinco meses. Cabe a eles agora a desenvolver os “pacotes de casamento ” para atrair casais para o seu casamento e celebração na Madeira.
A Cesta : o carpinteiro está atrasado com isso, ele está tomando agora a base para uma fábrica de vime na Camacha para terminar no topo. Então precisa ser equipado com almofadas, e podemos enviá-lo para o hotel – isso irá criar emprego para os trabalhadores de vimes.
A Universidade de Verão: não foi realizado este ano, porque a esposa de E estava muito doente, então ele teve que assumir a organização do Curso de Leicester uma semana no verão, para os estudantes da Inglaterra. A Universidade de Leicester já perguntou se eles poderiam enviar os seus alunos em 2014. Mas o nosso projeto seria maior: 10 cursos ( com temas como vulcanismo, biologia marinha, o vinho, etc ) oferecidos por sete semanas aos estrangeiros que estão interessados em cursos para adultos. E precisa de ajuda para organizar isso, falamos com uma escola local que treina gestores de eventos. Com boa sorte, possamos organizar uma universidade de verão para 2014. Isso abriria um novo mercado de turismo para a ilha e ajudaja os restaurantes locais, pensões e sim, as lojas de souvenirs com mais rendimento no verão.
Feito: U deu uma palestra sobre Emigração em novembro de 2012, para ajudar os jovens madeirenses que querem / precisam de emigrar, com as suas escolhas e decisões.
O híbrido: um procedimento para vender e comprar um imóvel sem a necessidade de uma hipoteca e envolvimento do banco. O papel está quase concluído, será publicada via Contraditório e vamos tentar também para o Diário de Notícias.
O projeto de um “museu” . Vai trazer uma nova atração para a ilha e criar cerca de 10 postos de trabalho. U está falando com um novo contato para obter um investidor da Alemanha.
Manual de prevenção e de combate de incêndios para a população: o manual está pronto em Inglês, tem de ser transferido para Português adequada e simples. Queremos publicar-lo também pelo Diário de Notícias.
Den. tem um sistema de painéis solares para autoconsumo – e há uma oferta para um franchise na ilha
A competição de motorista com máquinas de excavacao em tamanho real (nosso povo é muito bom nisso, isto é feito na Nova Zelândia) e/ou uma versão menor, com modelos de máquinas que podem ser comprados na Alemanha e vendido aqui.
A apresentação histórica ao vivo sobre a ligação entre a Grã-Bretanha e da Madeira para as empresas de vinho ( preciso de um ator para isso)
Nós conversamos (e estamos falando) sobre uma moeda alternativa local ou um banco de horas através de um novo software livre de carga on-line, e as iniciativas portuguesas na democracia direta
Novo: Existe um franchise disponível a partir www.clinicafinanceira.pt. Esta empresa ajuda a particulares e empresas entender por que eles estão em dívida ou não ganhar dinheiro, para corrigir a situação. Realmente necessário na Madeira.
Novo: U está em contato com www.omegaEco.com , que celebrou um contrato com a Câmara Municipal do Funchal para reciclar o lixo doméstico (por um preço muito inferior Meia Serra), para ver se eles precisam de pessoal de engenharia. Então nós poderíamos informar os nossos contactos sobre este potencial de emprego
Feito: Nós tivemos uma apresentação da Madeira Consorcio no primeiro IGNITE PORTUGAL na Madeira em Julho
Visitas: Visitamos Meia Serra e Fabrica de Cana de Açúcar Ribeiro Seco e fomos acolheta de pêra na fazenda de D & P (terá novamente em breve)
Nós provamos um monte de coisas, tais como chips secas de abacate, suco de pêra, vinagre pêra, doce de banana, …
Idéias que não deram certo:
The “Mosquito Killer” (luz azul e zzzap!): não atrai nem mata Aedes egyptii (Dengue)
Reciclagem de baterias, baterias novas de China são demasiado barato
Cursos de escola de conducao para estrangeiros, com exames em ingles; antes de receber a licença final, o documento intermediário não será aceito pelo país de origem deles
Agricultura:
Madeira, com ar limpo, água limpa e terra limpa, pode produzir quantidades limitadas de plantas “exóticos” medicinais de alta qualidade para bom lucro, nós fizemos muita pesquisa sobre os respectivos produtos. Também fizemos analises das vantagens e dos pontos fracos da agricultura da Madeira.
Cavalinha agricultura com contrato para sílica (e outras plantas). Estamos aguardando o contato alemão de nos dizer quando (no Outono) trazer as plantas de teste (a ser plantada em terras de N)
Esse contato alemã tem um projeto à espera de aprovação (na Alemanha), para usar fibras de banana das Canárias e da Madeira para a produção de materiais plásticos fortes.

Sucesso: F recebeu apoio entusiástico para sua fábrica de compota, operando agora!
E está à procura de uma maneira de produzir o seu pão em um ambiente mais profissional
Cooperação com M B na Alemanha para conseguir um agente que vai dizer o que os nossos agricultores podem plantar por bons preços; U S da Alemanha que visitou as fazendas em junho, está atrás deles. Ele também quer publicar dois artigos em periódicos especializados para fazer os alemães realizar o potencial agrícola da Madeira.
Nós podemos produzir óleos essenciais para o bom lucro, Da. vai começar com lavanda
Da. esta a criar uma permacultura e quer organizar passeios de turismo em sua fazenda
N desenvolveu um sistema de aquicultura para venda
S está verificando a nossa idéia de produzir cones de açúcar de tamanho pequeno, para ser produzido e empacotado como souvenir para os turistas madeirenses.
Sucesso no lado: Da. falou com o secretário de Agricultura, Manuel António Correia, para adotar a sua ideia para pagar a população para recolher o Fiteira que em seguida pode ser queimado na Meia Serra (ver Jornal da Madeira em 2013/09/04 )

Det. wanted to hear more about our projects. He has a point: it is difficult for newcomers to see where our successes are, and our projects need a long time to come to fruition. I combed through our 40 previous meeting minutes and here is a list of our projects ( I hope I didn’t forget anything):
Tourism & Business in General:
Done:The paper about “Marriage for Foreigners in Portugal” (they do not need a residencia anymore to get married here – we could be the Hawaii of Europe) has been published by Contraditorio in Lisbon and sent by U to all major tour operators and the big hotels on the island about five months ago. It is up to them now to develop the “Wedding packages” to lure couples here for their wedding and celebration.
The Basket: the carpenter is delayed with this, he is now taking the base to a wickerwork factory in Camacha to finish the top. Then it needs to be fitted with cushions, and we can send it to the hotel, and the hotel should order baskets – this will create jobs for the local wickerwork guys.
The University: it didn’t come to pass this year because E’s wife was very sick, so he had to take over her organization of the one week Leicester Course , for students from England. The Leicester University already asked if they could also send their students in 2014. But our project would be larger: 10 courses (with themes like vulcanism, marine biology, wine making, etc.) offered for seven weeks to foreigners who are interested in adult education. E needs help to organize this; we spoke to a local school which trains event managers. Hopefully, we can take this up in time so that we can organize a full Summer University for 2014. This would open a new market of tourism for the island and help the local restaurants, pensions and yes, the souvenir shops with more income in the Summer.
Done: U gave a lecture on Emigration in Nov 2012, to help young Madeirans who want/need to emigrate, with their choices and decisions.
The Hybrid: a procedure to sell and buy a property without the need for a mortgage and bank involvement. The paper on it is nearly finished, it will be published via Contraditório and hopefully also in the Diário de Notícias.
The “museum” Will bring a new attraction to the island and create around 10 jobs. U is talking to a new contact to get an investor from Germany.
Fire prevention and combat manual for the population; the manual is ready in English, has to be transferred into proper, simple Portuguese. We want to have it published by the Diário de Noticias.
Den has a solar panel system for autoconsumo – and there is an offer for a franchise on the island
A digger driver competition with life size machines (our people are very good at this, it’s done in New Zealand) and/or a smaller version with model machines which can be bought in Germany and sold here.
A historical live presentation for wine companies (we need an actor for this)
We talked (and are talking) about a local alternative currency or a time bank via a new online free-of-charge software, and Portuguese initiatives on direct democracy
New: There is a franchise available from www.clinicafinanceira.ptThis company helps private persons and companies understand why they are in debt or not making money, to correct their situation. Really needed in Madeira.
New: U is in touch with J. who entered into a contract with the City Hall of Funchal to recycle the household waste (for a much lower price than Meia Serra), to see if they need engineering staff. Then we could inform our contacts about this job potential.
Done: We had a Presentation of the Madeira Consorcio in the first IGNITE PORTUGAL event in Madeira in July
Visits: We visited Meia Serra and Fabrica de Cana de Acucar Ribeiro Seco and we went pear picking in D’s & P.’s farm (coming up soon again)
We tasted a lot of stuff, such as dried avocado chips, pear juice, pear vinegar, banana jam, …
Ideas that didn’t pan out:
The Mosquito Killer (blue light and zzzap!!) does not attract and kill Aedes egyptii (Dengue)
Car battery recycling; new batteries are too cheap from China
Drivers license courses & tests to be taken here by foreigners, the intermediary document will not be accepted by the home country
Agriculture:
Madeira, with clean air, clean water and clean land, can produce limited amounts of “exotic” high quality medicinal plants for good profit; we did a lot of research on the respective products. We also analyzed the advantages and weak points of Madeira farming.
Horsetail contract farming for silica (and other plants). We are waiting for the German contact to tell us when (in autumn) they will bring the test plants (to be planted on Nelson’s land)
This German contact has a project waiting for approval (in Germany), to use banana fibers from the Canary Islands and from Madeira for the production of strong plastic materials.
We are in contact with ECM and AJAMPS
Successful: F got enthusiastic support for his jam factory, now operating!
E is looking for a way to produce his bread in a more professional environment
Cooperation with M B in Germany to get an agent who will tell our farmers what to plant for good prices; U S from Germany who visited our famers in June, is after them. He also wants to publish two articles in expert journals to get the Germans to realize Madeira’s farming potential
We can produce essential oils for good profit, D. will start with Lavender
D. is setting up a permaculture and wants to organize tourism tours on his farm
N. developed an aquaculture system for sale
A company on the mainland is checking out our idea of producing sugar in small size, to be produced and packaged as souvenir for the Madeiran tourists.
Success on the side: D. moved the Secretary of Agriculture, Manuel António Correia, to adopt his idea to pay the population to collect the Fiteira from fire endangered zones which then can be burned in Meia Serra (see Jornal da Madeira on 4.9.2013)

Olá equipe,
fomos ao “La Pasta” pela primeira vez, e nós decidimos que é um bom ponto de encontro para o Grupo ToBinG no verão (estacionamento na Rua dos Tanoeiros é gratuito), e tivemos um pequeno jantar depois. A pizza é muito bom!
D está em contato com o Carpenter E, que deve terminar o suporte para o alto do cesto . U é atrás o número de telefone de uma empresa que, aparentemente, comprou algumas cestas de praia do exterior e é alugá-los, mas por preços muito elevados. Queremos saber mais.
Produtos de açúcar: U está em contato com S., seu gerente de Marketing está de férias, depois de meados de julho, podemos contactá-los novamente e ver se eles iriam produzir os produtos com açúcar da Madeira .
Um Sr. J está oferecendo passeios da cidade com um guia (não do tipo que as pessoas alugam um dispositivo de áudio e vêm sozinho, parece que temos isso agora também), mas muito caro, e não com um site profissional. U deve receber um telefonema dele, para se encontrar com ele e ajudá-lo a configurá-lo melhor.
D está recebendo dois Wwoofers, trabalhadores estudantes que estão vindo para trabalhar em sua fazenda orgânica para cama e mesa. Isso também pode ser interessante para outros membros: http://www.wwoof.com.au/
Tivemos uma grande discussão sobre a maneira como nós queremos ir em frente com o nosso trabalho.
Alguns membros sentem que precisam de mais exposição, não para nos mostrar, mas para conscientizar as pessoas de que podemos fornecer soluções. Uma forma seria a participar do próximo “Ignite Portugal” no dia 12 de julho na UMA (colégio Jesuitas), e para dar informações sobre o nosso grupo, mencionando o nosso blog e grupo no Facebook. U irá pesquisar este mais sobre Ignite.
Também poderia se tornar um grupo de lobby para se reunir com pessoas do governo, outras organizações e jornais. Nós poderíamos ser um catalisador, uma força de mudança na ilha. Essa idéia ainda é confusa, ela precisa ser discutida.
D estava na feira de gado e encontrou o vice-ministro da Agricultura. Ao contrário do que fazem os madeirenses, D disse-lhe (em Inglês, então eles precisam se concentrar e ouvir melhor) para reconhecer as pessoas como C, que foi embora, tem-se um grau, voltou e abriu um negócio aqui, agregando valor para a ilha, sem obter muito apoio do Governo. Os caras do governo foram bastante surpreso com isso.
U propôs uma descrição do trabalho de D como “pessoa dor no pescoço”, falando para os outros, como os madeirenses não se manifestam contra à autoridade, falam sobre as suas queixas apenas uns aos outros.
As pessoas ainda não encontraram uma maneira de expressar o seu descontentamento: vuvuzelas, apitos, atirando tomates …
Outro exemplo: funcionários que perderam seus empregos e sabem que o chefe investiu o dinheiro em um restaurante, têm medo de se organizar uma manifestação registrada em frente ao restaurante, embora isso iria criar pressão para o patrão a pagar-lhes os salários atrasados.
Há uma disposição da Constituição em algum lugar que os cidadãos possam formar comissões para exigir um relatório a partir de qualquer agência do governo sobre qualquer assunto, e da Agência é obrigado pela Constituição a responder.
Agricultura:
Falamos sobre os comentários de U (falaremos mais na próxima semana) e que podemos criar um efeito de ondulação, incluindo outros agricultores que podem adicionar suas terras, uma vez que temos um cliente que quer um determinado produto.
Outras coisas:
O software Cylos já está online (na nuvem, gratuitamente) para a criação de um IOU (Devo-te) ou troca de tempo para Madeira. Bliive é um site Português com uma abordagem semelhante, mas não é visível se o seu mercado está sendo muito usada.
A Expomadeira começa agora e se estende por uma semana em Technopolo.
Millennium BCP oferece créditos para pequenas e médias empresas para a agricultura, a pesca, produtores de flores, turismo, indústria e serviços agora. Eles também oferecem condições especiais para os desempregados que querem abrir um negócio, e cartas de crédito para a exportação. Talvez a crise de crédito é mais …

we went to “La Pasta” for the first time, and we decided that is is a good meeting place for the ToBinG Group in the Summer (parking in Rua dos Tanoeiros is free), and we had a small dinner afterwards. The pizza is very good!
D is in contact with the Carpenter E, who should finish the support for the top of the basket. U is after the telephone number of a company that apparently bought some baskets from abroad and is renting them out , but for very high prices. We want to know how they set this up.
Sugar products: U is in touch with S, their Marketing manager is on holiday, after mid-July we can contact them again and see if they would produce the products we are after.
A Sr. J is offering city walks with a guide (not the kind where people rent an audio device and go alone, we seem to have this now as well) but too expensive, and not with a professional website. U should get a call from him, to meet with him and help him set it up better.
D is getting two Wwoofers, student workers who are coming over to work on his organic farm for bed and board. This might also be interesting for other members: http://www.wwoof.com.au/
We had a big discussion about the way we want to go forward with our work.
Some members feel we need more exposure, not to show off but to make people aware that we can provide solutions. One way would be to participate in the upcoming “IGNITE Portugal” discussion on July 12 in the UMA (downtown), and to give out information about our group, mentioning our blog and Facebook group. U will research this IGNITE further.
We could also become a lobbying group to meet with government people, other organizations and newspapers. We could be a catalyst, a force of change on the island. This idea is still fuzzy, it needs to be discussed further.
D was at the cattle fair and met the deputy Agriculture minister. Contrary to what Madeirans do, D told him (in English, then they need to concentrate and listen better) to recognize people like C who went away, got herself a degree, came back and opened a business here, adding value to the island, without getting much support from the Government. The Government guys were quite surprised by this.
U proposed a job description for D as “Pain in the Neck” person, speaking up for others, as the Madeirans bow to Authority and don’t voice their complaint openly, only to each other.
The people have not yet found a way to express their dissatisfaction; Vuvuzelas, apitos, throwing tomatoes…
Another example: staff who lost their jobs and know that the boss invested the money in a restaurant, are afraid to organize a registered demonstration in front of the restaurant, although this would create pressure for the boss to pay them their back salaries.
There is a provision in the Constitution somewhere that citizens can form commissions to demand a report from any government agency about any subject, and the Agency is bound by the Constitution to answer.
Agriculture:
We spoke about the feedback from U (will speak some more next week) and that we can create a rippling effect by including other farmers who can add their land once we have a client who wants a certain product.
Other stuff:
The Cylos software is now online (in the cloud, free of charge) to set up a IOU (I owe you) or time exchange for Madeira. Bliive is a Portuguese site with a similar approach, but it is not visible if their marketplace is being used very much.
The Expomadeira starts now and runs for one week in Technopolo.

Olá equipe,
tivemos a primeira reunião do ano novo, e embora nada estava acontecendo durante a temporada de férias, tivemos muito a discutir
A palestra sobre a emigração foi adiantada novamente, desta vez para 18 de janeiro. Pelo menos agora existem 16 reservas até agora.
Dengue: Ursula vi uma palestra TED emocionante sobre Dengue no internet : (http://www.ted.com/talks/hadyn_parry_re_engineering_mosquitos_to_fight_disease.html) , incluindo menção da Madeira. Ela contatou a empresa, Oxitech, e recebeu uma resposta pronta, eles podem esterilizar os mosquitos e soltar-los para diminuir a população, como a Bio-Fabrica Camacha costumava fazer alguns anos atrás, com outra mosca. Ursula enviou um pedido pessoal para a pessoa responsável (Dr. Melim) no SRAS ( serviço de saúde), se eles pudessem assumir o método Oxitech para a Madeira e re-abrir a Bio-Fabrica para esta finalidade. Hello Team,
we had a great first-of-the-year meeting, and although nothing much was going on during the holiday season, we had a lot to discuss!
The lecture on emigration has been moved again, this time to January 18. At least now there are 16 reservations so far.
Dengue Fever: Ursula watched an exciting TED talk on Dengue (http://www.ted.com/talks/hadyn_parry_re_engineering_mosquitos_to_fight_disease.html) , including mention of Madeira. She contacted the company, Oxitech, and got a prompt answer, they can sterilize the mosquitoes and release them to lower the population, just as the Bio-Fabrica in Camacha did it a few years ago with the medfly.. She send a polite, private request to the responsible person (Dr. Melim)in the SRAS Health Service, if they could take up the Oxitech method for Madeira and re-open the Bio-Fabrica for this purpose. We are not expecting an answer…. She sent a cc of this message to the Diario but they may not take up the story. Ursula will talk to Emanuel Silva, a DN Journalist, to set up a meeting so that in the future, we could feed him stories.

Olá Equipe,
tivemos uma boa reunião e rimos muito!
Desta vez, nosso associado membro Björn da Noruega veio, ele está aqui por uma semana.
Ursula informou que a parceria matéria-prima com fibras vegetais está em curso. Verena trouxe algumas informações sobre uma planta (Nesselfaser) que o projeto está olhando, mas não pode ser cultivada na Madeira, porque precisa de um clima mais seco. Nossa banana é perfeito, e propusemos algumas outras plantas.
Regina disse que há um mercado de agircultura todos os dias em S. Martinho (abaixo do cemitério) onde todos podem vender os seus produtos.
Agrobio organiza a “Feira Internacional da Agricultura Biológica” no Porto a partir de 30 novembro – 2 dezembro (http://www.agrobio.pt/pt/). Agrobio não é uma cooperativa, tem consumidores e cientistas como membros, mas também fornecedores (que pode usar o logotipo Agrobio para seus produtos.
Verena irá marcar uma reunião com alguns jovens agricultores que também estariam interessado a participar.
Verena trouxe algumas folhas de Eucalyptus citrodoria, tem cheiro de limão. Nós pedimos o Café de transformá-lo em um chá, que é semelhante ao chá de limão, mas com um sabor oleosa. As folhas podem ser utilizadas para sabonetes e espumas de banho. Também é um bom desinfectante .
Uma dica dos velhotes da Madeira: se você cobrir as batatas com folhas de eucalipto, não brotam e mantem-se fresco por quase um ano.
Outras coisas:
Info: ANA, a entidade pública proprietária dos aeroportos portugueses, vai ser vendido, e há indicações de que as taxas aeroportuárias poderão ser reduzidos. As taxas do porto na Madeira foram reduzidos, mas apenas em 10%.

Hello Team,
we had a good meeting and laughed a lot!
This time, our associate member Björn from Norway came, he is here for a week.
Ursula reported that the raw material partnership for plant fibers is ongoing. Verena brought some info about a plant (Nesselfaser) that the project is looking at but it cannot be cultivated in Madeira because it needs a dryer climate. Our banana is in, and we proposed some other plants. U
Regina said that there is a Farmer’s Market every day in S. Martinho (below the cemetery) now where everybody can sell their goods.
Agrobio organizes the “Feira Internacional da Agricultura Biologica” in Porto from Nov 30 to Dec 2nd (http://www.agrobio.pt/pt/). Agrobio is not a co-operative, it has consumers and scientiets as members but also suppliers.
Verena will set up a meeting with some young farmers who would also be interested to join.
Verena brought some leaves of Eucalyptus citrodoria, it smells of lemon. We thad the Café turn it into a tea, it is similar to lemon tea but with an oily aftertaste. The leaves can be used for soaps and bath foams. It is also a good desinfectant.
The old people in Madeira still have some good know-how: if you cover potatoes with eucalyptus leaves, they do not sprout and keep fresh for almost one year.
Other stuff:
Info: ANA, the public entity owning the Portuguese airports, will be sold, and there are indications that the airport fees could be lowered. The port fees in Madeira have been lowered but only by 10%.

14 Reunião Consórcio Madeira (ToBinG ) 15.11.2012
Tivemos uma boa reunião!
Desta vez, Dennis (de Eurofinesco – impostos-para-estrangeiros) e sua esposa Maria José, um artista do Algarve, estavam presente também; vivem perto de Albufeira e estão em Funchal em alguns dias por mês.
Gonçalo vai importar Mata-Mosquitos (com luz ultravioleta que atrai mosquitos e mata-os com electricidade) e ver como se vendem.
Ursula informou que a parceria matéria-prima para fibras vegetais está em curso. A empresa alemã está a olhar para os nossos bananas e outras plantas. Este projecto envolve um monte de trabalho por alguns cientistas, felizmente nos não vamos ter que fazer muito.
Nós passamos muito tempo com a discussão dos argumentos contrários à solução híbrida. Dennis irá desenvolver esta ainda mais com seu advogado, e vai escrever um artigo sobre isso para Contraditório. Esta solução pode ajudar as pessoas que não podem obter hipotecas para comprar o imóvel de vendedores ou construtores que querem vender imoveis excedentes ao longo do tempo.
David teve outra grande idéia sobre uma competição internacional que poderia organizar na ilha, como o Rally e os campeonatos de canoagem, mas temos de falar sobre isso novamente para obter um melhor imagem disso.
David encontrou um site interessante, dê uma olhada: http://www.burpee.com/ Este é um grande fornecedor de sementes, com uma loja online.
Nós não foi possivel visitar a usina de reciclagem Meia Serra no inicio do mês porque David não conseguia sair da montanha – mau tempo. Assim Gonçalo organizou outra data em 28 de novembro. Favor entrar em contato com Gonçalo!

We had a good meeting!
This time, Dennis (from Eurofinesco – taxes-for foreigners) and his wife Maria José, an artist from the Algarve, attended too; they live near Albufeira and are in Funchal a few days every month.
Gonçalo is going to import Mosquito Killers (with UV light that attracts mosquitoes and kills them with electricity) and will see how the sell here.
Ursula reported that the raw material partnership for plant fibers is ongoing. The German company is looking at our bananas and other plants.This project involves a lot of work by some scientists, we won’t have to do that much.
We spent a lot of time with the discussion of the counter arguments to the hybrid solution (buying a property without a bank and without interest rates). Dennis will develop this further with his lawyer, and hopefully write a paper about it for Contraditório. This solution could help people who cannot get mortgages to buy property from sellers or developers who want to sell surplus property over time.
David had another great idea about an international competition we could organize on the island, like the Rally and the canoeing championships, but we have to speak about this again to get a better grip on it.
David found an interesting site: http://www.burpee.com/ This is a big supplier of seeds, with an online shop.
We couldn’t go to visit the Meia Serra recycling plant because David couldn’t get off the mountain – bad weather – so Gonçalo organized another date on Nov 28. Please get in touch with Gonçalo!

Hello Team,
we had a fun time, and some great new ideas!
Ursula reminded the group that AgroBio (www.agrobio.pt) has a low entrance fee at this time, and that membership also brings a “bio-label” for the members’ products, the site is very informative, and newsletters offer really good info, so it would be good for you to join!
Stefan is studying Bio-Agriculture at the university. In his class, there are many students who will take over their parents farm later but will want to know what to cultivate and where to find clients. We shall be able to draw on them when we have clients and need to fulfill orders.

Tivemos uma discussão interessante e muito divertido!
David trouxe um pouco de sua vinagre de pêra, feito das peras que colhemos juntos – muito bom! – e Egberto trouxe para alguns de nós o seu pão “Artisan“.
Falavamos sobre o plano de David de um sistema de produção / permacultura fechado. Ele agora vai envolver um advogado para ter certeza que ele pode fazer o que ele quer fazer sem quebrar as regras.
Em relação ao peixe que ele quer importar: com a crise actual da dengue, o governo está pensar em importar peixe para os tanques e lagoas onde se alimentam as larvas. Truta não é bom neste caso, porque eles precisam água fria, enquanto que as larvas são depositadas em água com temperaturas normais. Desta forma, pode ser permitido Tilapia em breve. (Sapos são muito eficazes também.)
Velas “Nespresso”: o link é http://www.oonsolutions.com/homepage/index.php. Esta empresa utiliza uma máquina semelhante ao sistema de café Nespresso para transformar óleo de cozinha usado em velas. A máquina (via Amazon) está fora de estoque no momento, a actividade da empresa está suspensa, devido a problemas financeiros. A ideia do Egberto era que nós poderíamos usar essa máquina para a produção de velas com citronela ou andiroba (usado no Brasil) para afastar os mosquitos que trazem agora a dengue. Ele vai entrar em contato com a empresa para ver se eles podem, com esta necessidade na Madeira, encontrar um outro investidor para re-iniciar a sua produção e produzir os partes necessários para produzir o cheiro da citronela e andiroba.
Também falamos sobre um Bolsa de Trocas, através horas ou de créditos . Um mercado de pulgas (feira de amizade) é uma troca de bens contra o dinheiro, uma troca sem dinheiro teria a vantagem que as mudanças não trazem impostos. Bolsas favorecem a economia local, há muitos exemplos de Intercâmbio na Europa. Isso precisa ser discutido;
Há uma troca pontual de mercadorias na Madeira em 21 de outubro, em Prazeres: “Feira de Trocas” Acredite na Natureza “, a partir da 15 h. As pessoas são convidadas a trazer legumes, sementes e frutas e outros produtos para troca. Haverá também aulas de yoga, workshops, massagens, shiatsu e música. Os participantes são convidados a trazer comida para uma refeição ligeira. O produto da Feira vai apoiar a Quinta Pedagógica em Prazeres. O programa completo pode ser visto no http://feiratrocasmadeira.wordpress.com/. Esta é uma boa ideia para um dia agradável em Prazeres!

AHK iniciativa – a cooperação com o “Corpus Culinario” associação na Alemanha
Corpus Culinario (http://www.corpus-culinario.de) tem uma exposição com degustação de comida para os seus membros, em torno de 70 lojas de lojas e correntes Gourmet.
A Câmara de Comércio bilateral (AHK) vai organizar o stand e cada empresa terá uma mesa.

We had an interesting discussion and a lot of fun!
David brought some of his pear vinegar, made from the pears we harvested together – very good! – and Egberto brought some of us his “Artisan” bread.
We spoke about David’s plan of a closed production/permaculture system. He will now involve a lawyer to make sure he can do what he wants to do without breaking any rules.
In regards to the fish he wants to import: with the current dengue crisis, the government is thinking of importing fish for the tanks and pond which feed on larvae. Trout is not good in this case because they need to live in cold water, whereas the larvae are deposited in water with normal temperatures. This way, Tilapia may be allowed soon. (Frogs are very effective as well)
“Nespresso” Candles: the link is http://www.oonsolutions.com/homepage/index.php. This company uses a machine similar to the Nespresso coffee system to turn used cooking oil into candles. The machine (via Amazon) is out of stock at the moment, the company activity is suspended, due to financial problems. Egberto’s idea was that we could use such a machine to produce candles with citronela or andiroba (used in Brazil) to chase away the Dengue carrying mosquitos. He will get in touch with the company to see if they can, with this need in Madeira, find another investor to re-start their production and produce the pods needed to supply the citronela and andiroba smell.
We also spoke about an Exchange system, via hours or credits. A flea market is an exchange of goods against money, an Exchange would have the advantage is that no money changes hands, ergo nor taxes can be applied. Exchanges favor a local economy, there are many examples of Exchanges in Europe. This needs to be discussed further.
There is a one-off exchange of goods in Madeira on Oct 21st in Prazeres: “Feira de Trocas ‘Believe in Nature’ as of 3pm. People are asked to bring vegetables , seeds, and fruit and other produce to exchange. There will also be yoga classes, workshops, massage, shiatsu and music. Participants are asked to bring food for a light meal. The proceeds of the Feira support the Quinta Pedagogica in Prazeres. The full program can be seen at http://feiratrocasmadeira.wordpress.com/ . This is a good idea for a nice day in Prazeres!
Agriculture News:
AHK initiative – cooperation with the “Corpus Culinario” association in Germany
Corpus Culinario (http://www.corpus-culinario.de) has an in-house exhibition with food tasting for its members, around 70 delicatessen shops and chains in Germany, It is the first time that Portugal will participate. The event is accompanied by the press, and renowned kitchen chefs are invited as well. Portugal will have a stand for 8-10 portuguese companies which can present their food (fruit & vegetables, spices, salt, cheeses, etc.), The bilateral Chamber of Commerce (AHK) will organize the stand and each company will have a table.
The Agriculture group will meet on Oct 18th .
