Tivemos um encontro interessante com Sr. Luís da fábrica de cana que visitámos há alguns meses. deramos-ló alguns ideias nossas
Pacotes de açúcar orgânico produzido por ele para nossos hotéis e restaurantes locais seriam demasiado caro em comparação com os pacotes SIDUL do continente.
O produtor em Ponta do Sol tem em torno de 7.000 kg de cana-de-açúcar orgânico que produz em torno de 700 kg de mel. Este é comprado completamente por Reid’s, eles fazem o seu próprio bolo de mel para seus clientes.
A Quinta do Furão é, aparentemente, orgânica, também.

Alguns de nos foram para o Diário de Notícias na terça-feira, eles concordaram em publicar o nosso Manual de Proteção Contra Incêndio de graça numa de suas edições especiais (por fim de não ter de cortá-lo em seções).
U vai tentar ver se ela pode obter um patrocinador para imprimir folhetos para distribuição à população.
Sugestões para o Governo :
Tivemos eleições e as coisas realmente podem mudar para melhor!
Nossas idéias:
– Dê um controle para cada casa uma vez por ano
– Queimas controladas ( Florestal )
– Simplificar a burocracia para obter licenças para queimas controladas pelos proprietários de terra
– Use as ferramentas cartográficas e Internet para mapear as áreas mais prováveis para incêndios
– Mais bombeiros, melhor equipamento (mangueiras sem buracos); (helicópteros e aviões de incêndio não ajudam, porque a água de sal não pode ser usada e água doce não pode ser carregado suficiente rapido)
– Proibir fogos de artifício no verão/outono, nem mesmo para a festa do Monte em Agosto
– Proibir velas e o churrasco no verão/outono, mesmo para festas
– Mandar a população a coletar Feiteira e pagar-lhes para ele ( para se queimada na Meia Serra)
– Todas as famílias devem ter uma lista como prevenir incêndios em casa
– Assumir e leiloar casas abandonadas, a fim de evitar incêndios e riscos de mosquito.
– Fixação de coimas mais elevadas para incêndio criminoso.
– Cada Sitio deve ter um depósito público de água com boca, com medidas de prevenção de incêndios
– Cursos de prevenção de incêndios obrigatórios para os donos da casa, assim como o ” Primeiro Socorro ” , deve ser gratuita, e apresentado por bombeiros .
Poderíamos trabalhar em uma nova lista para se juntar outras recomendações e ver se podemos dar nossas ideias para os novos Presidentes das Camaras (não-PSD).

We had an interesting meeting with Sr. Luís from the sugarcane we visited some months ago and we gave him some of our ideas.
Organic sugar packets for our local hotels and restaurants would be too expensive in comparison with the SIDUL packets from the mainland
The producer in Ponta do Sol has around 7000kg of organic sugar cane which yields around 700 kg honey. This is bought completely by Reid`s; they bake their own honey cake for their clients.
Quinta do Furao is apparently organic, too.

Some of us went to the Diario de Noticias on Tuesday, they agreed to publish our Fire Protection Manual for free in one of their special editions (in order not to have to cut it up into sections)
U will try to see if she can get a sponsor to print leaflets for distribution to the population.
Suggestions for the Government:
We had elections and things actually may change for the better!
Our Ideas:

Give a fire prevention check to every house once per year

Controlled burning (Florestal)

Simplify the bureaucracy to get licenses for controlled burning by the land owners

Use cartographic and internet tools to map the most probable areas for fires

More firemen, better equipment (no leaking hoses); (Helicopters and fire planes don’t help because salt water cannot be used and sweet water cannot be loaded quickly enough)

Forbid fireworks in Summer/Autumn, not even for the Monte Festival

Forbid candles and the churrasco in Summer/Autumn, even for festivals
-
Get the population to collect feiteira and pay them for it (to Meia Serra)

All households should have a checklist in their house as how to prevent fires

Take over and auction off abandoned houses, in order to prevent fires and mosquito hazards.

Set higher fines for Arson

Every Sitio should have a public water depot with hydrant, with fire prevention measures

Mandatory fire prevention courses for house owners, just like “Primeiro Socorro”, should be free of charge, and presented by firemen.
We could work on a new list to join other recommendations and see if we can give our ideas to the new non-PSD Mayors.

Olá equipe,
Nós tivemos uma discussão animada sobre o risco de incêndio e as experiências que os nossos membros tiveram com isso. Esta foi uma reunião em que as palavras “problema” e “Governo” não poderiam ser evitados …
Falamos sobre os recentes incêndios e como prevenir e combater os.
E disse que os bombeiros chamados a Monte disseram à população para combater o fogo a si mesmos, sem pôr em risco as suas vidas … E estava muito abalada por sua experiência, ele tive de salvar a sua e a casa abandonada do vizinho. Ele também estava chocado que alguns dos bombeiros chamados de outros distritos tiveram de pedir a população “Onde estamos?”, e para onde ir, porque eles não estão familiarizados com Monte / Fanal.
D falou com o secretário de Agricultura sobre isso em uma reunião e mais uma vez fez todo o grupo desconfortável ao falar abertamente sobre as deficiências que ele vê quando se trata de prevenção de incêndios e combate.
Aqui estão alguns pontos: (a lista completa será desenvolvido por U, com base em informações E obteve de outra fonte nos EUA):
É óbvio que a população não tem ideia do que fazer em tal caso. Como os incêndios eram recentes e viva na memória da população, queremos desenvolver um manual para apresentar à população (por exemplo, em um local de encontro público em Monte), de modo que as pessoas podem tomar-se medidas quando os bombeiros não podem ajudar (como foi o caso em Monte).
O Governo deve fazer uma lei e adotar uma medida brasileira (há um esquema semelhante na Alemanha), lá as casas são controladas uma vez por ano, para obter um passe “hábito”. Um bombeiro irá inspecionar todos os detalhes da casa para certificar de que não representa um risco de incêndio ou um alvo fácil para o fogo (eles poderiam verificar contra reprodutores dos mosquitos ao mesmo tempo). Na Alemanha, este teste tem que ser pago pelo dono da casa.
O Governo deve fazer uma lei que tem o direito de assumir e leiloar casas abandonadas, a fim de evitar incêndios e riscos de mosquito.
Cada Sitio deve ter um depósito público de água com boca, com medidas de prevenção de incêndios, acessíveis à população.
O governo deve oferecer cursos de prevenção de incêndios pelos bombeiros para os donos da casa, semelhante como para o primeiro socorro. Os cursos devem ser gratuitos, talvez obrigatório para os donos das casas.
Auto-suficiência: Se o Governo não limpar a terra, você faz!
Isso precisa ser mais desenvolvido, U irá tentar apresentar uma minuta de um folheto na reunião Agricultura na próxima semana. Os membros ToBinG também são convidados a vir, para dar o seu contributo!
Outros pontos:
Valor Ambiente “- Meia Serra – está levando a CMF a tribunal porque eles estão quebrando um contrato de 20 anos para ter seus resíduos domésticos queimados na Meia Serra. Meia Serra quer 88 € por tonelada, e a nova empresa de Jan Madeira Waste Energy” tem cerca de um terço do custo. Isso vai ser interessante …

We had an animated discussion about the fire hazard and the experiences our members had with it. This was a meeting where the word “problem” and “Government” could not be avoided…
We spoke about the recent fires and how to prevent and combat them.
The firemen called to Monte told the population to combat the fire themselves, without endangering their lives… E was very shaken by his experience, he saved his and the neighbor’s abandoned house himself. He was also shocked that some of the firemen called in from other districts had to ask the population “Where are we?”, and where to do go, because they are not familiar with Monte/Fanal.
D spoke to the Secretary of Agriculture about this at a meeting and once again made the whole bunch uncomfortable by speaking frankly about the shortcomings he sees when it comes to fire prevention and combat.
Here are a few points: (a complete checklist will be developed by U, based on info E obtained from another source in the US)
It is obvious that the population has no clue what to do in such a case. As the fires were recent and vivid in their memory, we want to develop a manual to present to the population (for instance in a public meeting place in Monte) so that persons can take measures themselves if the firemen cannot help (as was the case in Monte).
The Government should make a law and adopt a Brazilian measure (there is a similar scheme in Germany), the houses there are inspected once a year to get a “habit” pass. A fireman will inspect all details of the house to make sure that is does not pose a fire hazard or an easy target for a fire (they could check against mosquitos breeding grounds at the same time). In Germany, this test has to be paid for by the house owners.
The Government should make a law that it has the right to take over and auction off abandoned houses, in order to prevent fires and mosquito hazards.
Every Sitio should have a public water depot with hydrant, with fire prevention measures, accessible to the population.
The Government should offer fire prevention courses by firemen for house owners, just like for First Aid. The courses should be free of charge, perhaps mandatory for house owners.
Self-reliance: If the Government does not clear the land, YOU do it!
This needs to be developed further, U will try to present a draft of a leaflet in the Agriculture meeting next week. The ToBinG members are also invited to come, to give their input!
Other issues:
Valor Ambiente” – Meia Serra – is taking the CMF to court because they are breaking a 20 year contract to have their household waste burnt in Meia Serra. Meia Serra wants 88€ per ton, and Jan`s enterprise “Madeira Waste Energy” has about a third of the cost. This will be interesting…

38 reunião Madeira Consórcio (Agricultura) 15.8.2013 English version below
Tivemos uma breve reunião – muitos membros usavam o feriado para ir para aos campos cedo – e D & P tinham que voltar até a quinta deles para cuidar de fogos. Lá há fumaça no horizonte quase todos os dias (U estava lá em cima por um alguns dias, o lugar é muito bonito e calmo e ideal para umas férias relaxantes)
Temos um novo membro!
V nos trouxe St., ele cresceu na África do Sul e começa seu curso agrícola na universidade agora.
Como já escrito no lembrete para a reunião, U precisa de uma lista de todos os membros (alguns já deveriam ter essa lista pelo si próprio) com os seguintes detalhes:
Tamanho da terra
Altitude
Capacidade de água
Quantidade de luz do sol / em que momento do dia
Situação do vento
Com isso, vai ser mais fácil de determinar quem pode receber as plantações de teste para a Cavalinha. e / ou de outras plantas para o cliente.
G está preocupado com a Cavalinha, se for Equisetum arvense (usado para sílica), é invasivo e difícil de erradicar. U irá pedir um esclarecimento do cliente.
V disse que não é fácil de ser cultivado.
E deu algumas sementes de Brasil ao D para entregar ao N: “Bardana” (Burdock, Arctium lapa), que cresce muito bem no lugar do E.
St. irá manter alguns de seus grãos de café por D de experimentar a sua própria marca, wow!
D e E discutiram o melhor fermento e as condições para fazer uma boa cidra. D está em processo de criação do segundo lote este ano, o primeiro lote do ano passado continha muito ácido.
E está à procura de um agricultor orgânico para configurar 3 x 30 m2 de grãos para ele: ele precisa de centeio, cevada e Kamut para o seu pão.

We had a short meeting – many members used the feriado to go to the fields early – and D & P had to go up to their farm to watch out for fires, there is smoke on the horizon almost every day (U was up there for a few days, their place is really beautiful and calm and ideal for a relaxing holiday)

V brought us St, he grew up in South Africa and starts his agricultural course at the university now.
U needs a list from each member (all members ought to have such a list anyway) with the following details:
Size of land
Altitude
Water capacity
Amount of sunshine / at what time of the day
Wind situation
With this, it will be easier to determine who can receive the test plantations for the Cavalinha and/or other plants for the German client
G is worried about the Cavalinha, if it is Equisetum arvense (used for silica), it is invasive and difficult to eradicate. U will ask the client. V said it is not easy to be farmed.
E gave D some “Bardana” (Burdock, Arctium lapa) seeds from Brasil for N; it grows very well in E`s place.
U contacted another resident, he has land in Ribeira Brava but only 800 m2, for further reference if we need unused land for the test plantations
St. will keep some of his coffee beans for D to experiment for his own brand, wow!
D and E discussed the best yeast and conditions to make good cider. D is in the process of setting up the second batch this year, the first year`s batch contained too much acid.
E is looking for an organic farmer to set up 3 x 30 m2 of grains for him: he needs rye, barley and Kamut for his bread.

we had a nice meeting and we worked on a list of advantages and weak points we have for the agriculture project, please see below:

Olá equipe,
fomos ao “La Pasta” pela primeira vez, e nós decidimos que é um bom ponto de encontro para o Grupo ToBinG no verão (estacionamento na Rua dos Tanoeiros é gratuito), e tivemos um pequeno jantar depois. A pizza é muito bom!
D está em contato com o Carpenter E, que deve terminar o suporte para o alto do cesto . U é atrás o número de telefone de uma empresa que, aparentemente, comprou algumas cestas de praia do exterior e é alugá-los, mas por preços muito elevados. Queremos saber mais.
Produtos de açúcar: U está em contato com S., seu gerente de Marketing está de férias, depois de meados de julho, podemos contactá-los novamente e ver se eles iriam produzir os produtos com açúcar da Madeira .
Um Sr. J está oferecendo passeios da cidade com um guia (não do tipo que as pessoas alugam um dispositivo de áudio e vêm sozinho, parece que temos isso agora também), mas muito caro, e não com um site profissional. U deve receber um telefonema dele, para se encontrar com ele e ajudá-lo a configurá-lo melhor.
D está recebendo dois Wwoofers, trabalhadores estudantes que estão vindo para trabalhar em sua fazenda orgânica para cama e mesa. Isso também pode ser interessante para outros membros: http://www.wwoof.com.au/
Tivemos uma grande discussão sobre a maneira como nós queremos ir em frente com o nosso trabalho.
Alguns membros sentem que precisam de mais exposição, não para nos mostrar, mas para conscientizar as pessoas de que podemos fornecer soluções. Uma forma seria a participar do próximo “Ignite Portugal” no dia 12 de julho na UMA (colégio Jesuitas), e para dar informações sobre o nosso grupo, mencionando o nosso blog e grupo no Facebook. U irá pesquisar este mais sobre Ignite.
Também poderia se tornar um grupo de lobby para se reunir com pessoas do governo, outras organizações e jornais. Nós poderíamos ser um catalisador, uma força de mudança na ilha. Essa idéia ainda é confusa, ela precisa ser discutida.
D estava na feira de gado e encontrou o vice-ministro da Agricultura. Ao contrário do que fazem os madeirenses, D disse-lhe (em Inglês, então eles precisam se concentrar e ouvir melhor) para reconhecer as pessoas como C, que foi embora, tem-se um grau, voltou e abriu um negócio aqui, agregando valor para a ilha, sem obter muito apoio do Governo. Os caras do governo foram bastante surpreso com isso.
U propôs uma descrição do trabalho de D como “pessoa dor no pescoço”, falando para os outros, como os madeirenses não se manifestam contra à autoridade, falam sobre as suas queixas apenas uns aos outros.
As pessoas ainda não encontraram uma maneira de expressar o seu descontentamento: vuvuzelas, apitos, atirando tomates …
Outro exemplo: funcionários que perderam seus empregos e sabem que o chefe investiu o dinheiro em um restaurante, têm medo de se organizar uma manifestação registrada em frente ao restaurante, embora isso iria criar pressão para o patrão a pagar-lhes os salários atrasados.
Há uma disposição da Constituição em algum lugar que os cidadãos possam formar comissões para exigir um relatório a partir de qualquer agência do governo sobre qualquer assunto, e da Agência é obrigado pela Constituição a responder.
Agricultura:
Falamos sobre os comentários de U (falaremos mais na próxima semana) e que podemos criar um efeito de ondulação, incluindo outros agricultores que podem adicionar suas terras, uma vez que temos um cliente que quer um determinado produto.
Outras coisas:
O software Cylos já está online (na nuvem, gratuitamente) para a criação de um IOU (Devo-te) ou troca de tempo para Madeira. Bliive é um site Português com uma abordagem semelhante, mas não é visível se o seu mercado está sendo muito usada.
A Expomadeira começa agora e se estende por uma semana em Technopolo.

we went to “La Pasta” for the first time, and we decided that is is a good meeting place for the ToBinG Group in the Summer (parking in Rua dos Tanoeiros is free), and we had a small dinner afterwards. The pizza is very good!
D is in contact with the Carpenter E, who should finish the support for the top of the basket. U is after the telephone number of a company that apparently bought some baskets from abroad and is renting them out , but for very high prices. We want to know how they set this up.
Sugar products: U is in touch with S, their Marketing manager is on holiday, after mid-July we can contact them again and see if they would produce the products we are after.
A Sr. J is offering city walks with a guide (not the kind where people rent an audio device and go alone, we seem to have this now as well) but too expensive, and not with a professional website. U should get a call from him, to meet with him and help him set it up better.
D is getting two Wwoofers, student workers who are coming over to work on his organic farm for bed and board. This might also be interesting for other members: http://www.wwoof.com.au/
We had a big discussion about the way we want to go forward with our work.
Some members feel we need more exposure, not to show off but to make people aware that we can provide solutions. One way would be to participate in the upcoming “IGNITE Portugal” discussion on July 12 in the UMA (downtown), and to give out information about our group, mentioning our blog and Facebook group. U will research this IGNITE further.
We could also become a lobbying group to meet with government people, other organizations and newspapers. We could be a catalyst, a force of change on the island. This idea is still fuzzy, it needs to be discussed further.
D was at the cattle fair and met the deputy Agriculture minister. Contrary to what Madeirans do, D told him (in English, then they need to concentrate and listen better) to recognize people like C who went away, got herself a degree, came back and opened a business here, adding value to the island, without getting much support from the Government. The Government guys were quite surprised by this.
U proposed a job description for D as “Pain in the Neck” person, speaking up for others, as the Madeirans bow to Authority and don’t voice their complaint openly, only to each other.
The people have not yet found a way to express their dissatisfaction; Vuvuzelas, apitos, throwing tomatoes…
Another example: staff who lost their jobs and know that the boss invested the money in a restaurant, are afraid to organize a registered demonstration in front of the restaurant, although this would create pressure for the boss to pay them their back salaries.
There is a provision in the Constitution somewhere that citizens can form commissions to demand a report from any government agency about any subject, and the Agency is bound by the Constitution to answer.
Agriculture:
We spoke about the feedback from U (will speak some more next week) and that we can create a rippling effect by including other farmers who can add their land once we have a client who wants a certain product.
Other stuff:
The Cylos software is now online (in the cloud, free of charge) to set up a IOU (I owe you) or time exchange for Madeira. Bliive is a Portuguese site with a similar approach, but it is not visible if their marketplace is being used very much.
The Expomadeira starts now and runs for one week in Technopolo.
Millennium BCP offers credits for small and medium companies for agriculture, fishing, flower producers, tourism, industry and services now. They also offer special conditions for the jobless who want to open a business, and credit letters for export. Maybe the credit crunch is over…

Olá equipe,
tivemos uma boa reunião: V nos mostrou os prêmios que recebeu para as montras de orquídeas que ela fez no ano passado para a Festa da Flor, em total, ela foi premiada com três prêmios, e com eles recebeu um bordado com um orquídea bem feito em um quadro, a ser exibido em Jardim Orquidea. Parabéns!
V, em seguida, trabalhou da lista de plantas que U tinha reunido, de plantas que buscam bons preços no mercado mundial – infelizmente, algumas plantas interessantes não crescem bem aqui.
Assim conseguimos, entre nós, para alcançar o objetivo da U de ter pelo menos 20 produtos em nossa lista de Ouro
J está pedindo subsídios para restaurar o plástico em uma antiga estufa. U disse-lhe para entrar em contato com D, que sabe de um produto melhor.
J está aguardando aprovação do projeto de Maracuja. Ele quer vender a fruta para F, Ele também tem 2.500 m2, onde ele provavelmente vai plantar batatas – há realmente uma falta agora, como muitos agricultores mudar para Maracuja.
J quer abrir uma padaria e vai precisar de ajuda com o IDE (U).

We had a nice meeting: V showed us the prizes she received for the orchid displays she did for last year`s Flower Festival, altogether, she was awarded three prizes and with them came a nicely done Orchid embroidery in a frame, to be displayed in Jardim Orquidea. Congratulations!
V then went over the plants list U had put together of plants which fetch good prices in the world market – unfortunately, some interesting plants do not grow well here.
We managed between us to reach U`s goal to have at least 20 products on our Golden List
J is asking for subsidies to restore the plastic sheeting on an old greenhouse. U told him to get in touch with D who knows of a better product.
J is waiting for approval of the project for Maracuja . He wants to sell the fruit to F. He also has 2.500 m2 where he will probably plant potatoes – there is actually a shortage now, as many farmers switch to Maracuja.
J wants to open a bakery and will need help with the IDE (Ursula).
Soap Production: U gave a list of requirements to R, she will send her info to U who will translate and send it to the department. Similar to E bread project, this production requires a separate room with license from the City Hall, with sanitaries.

29 Reunião Madeira Consórcio (Agricultura) 18.4.2013
De P nos trouxem favas para comer – muito bom! U trouxe um pequeno pote de marmelada de banana, esta é vendida numa loja especializada no Centromar. É um souvenir agradável para os turistas. A (Banana muito madura contém substâncias anti-cancerígenas.)
Dr. S respondeu ao e-mail de U, ele prefere vir em junho, juntamente com seu antigo parceiro e sua esposa, também especialistas em plantas. A visita será a partir de 24 junho – 8 julho. vamos criar um programa para eles para conhecer os nossos membros e ver o potencial. Depois Dr. S vai escrever o artigo.
J tem um projeto para Maracuja, mas a agência para os subsídios duvida que ele possa obter 2 € / kg para o seu fruto no futuro (ninguém tem uma bola de cristal). F vai fazer um contrato com ele com esse preço; assim J pode provar que ele pode obtê-lo, então o subsídio deve ir, e ele pode começar a plantar.
Alguns visitaram a fábrica de cana-de-mel no Funchal e falavam com o gerente.
Foi muito interessante! Eles só moem uma certa quantidade de cana, porque têm problemas para vender o mel depois (pequena exportação). Eles também enviam mel para Jersey para os madeirenses lá.
O gerente foi perguntado se ele poderia usar um pouco do suco da cana para fazer açúcar mascavo em pequenos cones como souvenir para turistas, mas ele não sabe como o fazer.
Uma das usinas em Porto da Cruz está sendo convertido em um museu.

Hello Team,
we had a lively meeting and a lot of fun!
D and P brought us favas to eat – very nice! U brought a small jar of banana marmelade, this is produced and sold in a speciality shop in Centromar. It is a nice souvenir for tourists. (Very ripe banana contains anti-cancer substances.)
Dr. S answered to Us email, he prefers to come in June, together with his old partner and his wife, also plant specialists, as these two know Madeira very well. The visit will be from June 24 to July 8. we shall set up a program for them to meet our members and see the potential. Dr. S will then write the article for us.
J has a project for Maracuja, and the agency taking care of the subsidies said that they doubt that he can get 2 €/kg for his fruit in the future (nobody has a crystal ball). F will make a contract with him with this price so that he can prove he can get it, then the subsidy should go thought, and he can start to plant.
Some of us visited the sugarcane-to-honey factory in Funchal and spoke to the manager. It was very interesting! They only grind a certain amount of sugarcane because they have problems to sell the honey afterwards (small export). The sugarcane leftover is sent to a cow farm in Caniço; D will get in touch with them, to get the resulting fertilizer.
The manager was asked if he could use some of the sugarcane juice to make small brown sugar cane cones as souvenir for tourists but he doesn’t know how to make it. One of the sugarcane mills in Porto da Cruz is being converted to a museum.

Olá equipe,
tivemos uma boa reunião com alguns dos membros da equipe de F e as coisas estão a ficar em forma!
Dr. S, como já mencionado, tem a intenção de visitar a Madeira em Abril ou Maio, para ver o que temos para oferecer. Então, ele vai escrever um artigo para uma revista especializada , isto deve levar-nos pedidos. Ele também dará Ursula contatos comerciais valiosos para tentar conseguir clientes.
U contactado Sra. T , para o projeto da fibra . U se reuniu com o chefe da GESBA e mandou detalhes do que os alemães têm em seu relatório das Ilhas Canárias, mas ainda não teve resposta da GESBA. Sra. T. pensa que os detalhes da Madeira não podem mesmo ser necessários, como temos condições muito semelhantes como as Ilhas Canárias, só mais água. Ela vai fazer um pedido de subsídios para o projeto e, uma vez que eles são concedidos, vai voltar para nos fornecer fibras de bananeira para o teste.
U apresentou uma lista de ervas que ela encontrei em Google de algumas lojas online de ervas.
U mencionou a empresa S, um grande produtor medicinal. Eles pararam de comprar ervas e outros materiais na Europa após a explosão Chernobyl e instalaram uma agricultura sob contrato no C, onde eles podem ter certeza de que o ar, a água e a terra são limpos e nada nuclear está à vista. Eles têm 600 ha de terra sob contrato lá.
D nos enviou dois links sobre um sistema de agricultura apoiado da comunidade: os agricultores podem depender de algum apoio por parte dos clientes finais que por sua vez podem ter certeza de que eles vão ser fornecidos com produtos

G vai organizar uma visita à fábrica da Cana Ribeiro Seco de Açúcar.
Nós conversamos sobre a situação fiscal dos agricultores. Ninguém está feliz que os agricultores têm de apresentar-se ao IRC e IVA agora, mas pelo menos eles podem preencher as receitas a mão. Grande parte da economia vai ficar sem registro.
F relatou que algumas pessoas dividem suas terras e registrarm cada parte com um membro da família diferente, da avó ao bebê, e cada pessoa do agregado familiar tem direito a um subsídio anual de 500 euros. Eles todos deveriam cultivar a terra, mas não o fazem; se uma inspeção está chegando, eles são avisados para que eles possam plantar um pouco antes.
Perto de de F existe uma antiga instalação para fabricar óleos, David está interessado para ver isso.

Hello Team,
we had a good meeting with some of F’s Team members and things are getting into shape!
Dr. S, as mentioned before, intends to come to Madeira in April or May, to see what we have to offer. Then he will write an expert article for a magazine in Germany, this should bring us requests.
U contacted Mrs. T for the Banana project. U met with the boss of GESBA and sent him details of what is in their report from the Canary Islands but has had no answer from GESBA yet. Mrs. T. thinks that the details from Madeira may not even be necessary as we have very similar conditions as the Canary Islands, only more water. She will make a request for subsidies for the project and, once they are granted, will get back to us to provide banana fibers for testing.
U presented a list of herbs she googled in some German online herb shops
U mentioned the company S, a big medicinal producer. They stopped buying herbs and other materials in Europe after the Tchernobyl explosion and installed a contract farming in Chile where they can be sure that the air, the water and the land are clean and nothing nuclear is in sight. They have 600 ha land under contract there.
D sent us two links about community supported farming in other countries: the farmers can depend on some support by the final customers who in turn can be certain that they will be supplied with produce:

G will organize a visit to the Ribeiro Seco Sugar Cane factory. They should be able to produce crystallized and organic sugar.
We spoke about the tax situation of the farmers. No-one is happy that the farmers have to submit to IRC and IVA now, but at least they can fill our receipts by hand. Much of the economy will stay unregistered. Filipe reported that some people split up their land and register each part with a different family member, from grandma to baby, and each person in the household has a right to an annual subsidy of 500 euro. They are all supposed to farm their land, but they don’t; if an inspection is coming, they are warned so that they can plant a bit before the check. Smarty-pants farmers…
Near F’s place is an old installation to fabricate oils, David is interested to see it.

25 Reunião Madeira Consórcio (Agricultura) 21.3.2013 – English version below
Olá equipe,
Tivemos uma primeira reunião interessante com o equipe do F. e espero que possamos trabalhar com este grupo numa base regular, eu acho que nós podemos conseguir bastante juntos!
Com eles, temos acesso ao terrenos em Tabua, Ponta do Pargo, Ponta do Sol. Santo da Serra, Funchal, Faial / Santana e S. Cruz.
Nós tivemos uma discussão animada sobre os prós e contras de muitas plantas, com IPad do N. como ajudante. N. pode fornecer muitas sementes e plantas para os outros membros do grupo e dar conselhos sobre o cultivo.
U. apresentou as indicações de preços que recebeu de E., com os preços actuais pagos por a empresa da para os óleos essenciais
Falavamos sobre os indicadores de preços do grossista e sobre a Proposta de preço do transporte para a exportação da Madeira para Hamburgo
Como agora temos um grupo com vários agricultores, U. irá escrever ao Dr. S e informá-lo de nosso progresso. Ele prometeu escrever um artigo científico para assinalar que a ilha é ideal para isso. Isto deve trazer-nos pedidos de esta indústria para citações e de cooperação.
U também vai reanimar um contato com o sobre Lippia Dulcis.
O projeto Banana-Fibra não consegue avançar, porque a Universidade não libera os estudos de banana que eles têm. U vai entrar em contato com outra agencia para ver se eles têm algo que pode entregar.

We had an interesting first meeting with F’s Team and I hope that we can work with this group on a regular basis, I think we can achieve quite a lot together!
With them, we have access to land in Tabua, Ponta do Pargo, Ponta do Sol. Santo da Serra, Funchal, Faial/Santana and S. Cruz.
We had a lively discussion about the pro’s and con’s of many plants, with N’s IPad as helper. N can provide many seeds and plants for the other members of the group and give advice on the cultivation.
U. mentioned that the Quinta Pedagogica has a dehydration machine , which could be used in exchange for animal feed or work. N. has a drying machine as well.
U presented the price indications she received with the actual prices the company is actually paying for essential oils.
We discussed the price indicators from the wholesaler and the offer for the export to Hamburg
As we now have a group with several farmers, U. will write to Dr. S. and inform him of our progress. He promised to write a scientific article for the Industry to point out that the island is ideal for this. This ought to bring us requests from this industry for quotes and cooperation.
The Banana-Fiber project does not get forward because the University does not release the Banana studies they have. Ursula will get in touch with another agency to see if they have something they can hand out.
F. has a nice new website with an online shop in several languages, members could perhaps co-operate with him to sell their goods via this shop. Have a look at: http://www.alvesdebarros.com/ (still needs a bit of tweaking)
