27 Madeira Consórcio reunião (Agricultura) 2013/04/04 – english version below
Olá equipe,
tivemos uma boa reunião com alguns dos membros da equipe de F e as coisas estão a ficar em forma!
Dr. S, como já mencionado, tem a intenção de visitar a Madeira em Abril ou Maio, para ver o que temos para oferecer. Então, ele vai escrever um artigo para uma revista especializada , isto deve levar-nos pedidos. Ele também dará Ursula contatos comerciais valiosos para tentar conseguir clientes.
U contactado Sra. T , para o projeto da fibra . U se reuniu com o chefe da GESBA e mandou detalhes do que os alemães têm em seu relatório das Ilhas Canárias, mas ainda não teve resposta da GESBA. Sra. T. pensa que os detalhes da Madeira não podem mesmo ser necessários, como temos condições muito semelhantes como as Ilhas Canárias, só mais água. Ela vai fazer um pedido de subsídios para o projeto e, uma vez que eles são concedidos, vai voltar para nos fornecer fibras de bananeira para o teste.
U apresentou uma lista de ervas que ela encontrei em Google de algumas lojas online de ervas.
U mencionou a empresa S, um grande produtor medicinal. Eles pararam de comprar ervas e outros materiais na Europa após a explosão Chernobyl e instalaram uma agricultura sob contrato no C, onde eles podem ter certeza de que o ar, a água e a terra são limpos e nada nuclear está à vista. Eles têm 600 ha de terra sob contrato lá.
D nos enviou dois links sobre um sistema de agricultura apoiado da comunidade: os agricultores podem depender de algum apoio por parte dos clientes finais que por sua vez podem ter certeza de que eles vão ser fornecidos com produtos

G vai organizar uma visita à fábrica da Cana Ribeiro Seco de Açúcar.
Nós conversamos sobre a situação fiscal dos agricultores. Ninguém está feliz que os agricultores têm de apresentar-se ao IRC e IVA agora, mas pelo menos eles podem preencher as receitas a mão. Grande parte da economia vai ficar sem registro.
F relatou que algumas pessoas dividem suas terras e registrarm cada parte com um membro da família diferente, da avó ao bebê, e cada pessoa do agregado familiar tem direito a um subsídio anual de 500 euros. Eles todos deveriam cultivar a terra, mas não o fazem; se uma inspeção está chegando, eles são avisados para que eles possam plantar um pouco antes.
Perto de de F existe uma antiga instalação para fabricar óleos, David está interessado para ver isso.

Hello Team,
we had a good meeting with some of F’s Team members and things are getting into shape!
Dr. S, as mentioned before, intends to come to Madeira in April or May, to see what we have to offer. Then he will write an expert article for a magazine in Germany, this should bring us requests.
U contacted Mrs. T for the Banana project. U met with the boss of GESBA and sent him details of what is in their report from the Canary Islands but has had no answer from GESBA yet. Mrs. T. thinks that the details from Madeira may not even be necessary as we have very similar conditions as the Canary Islands, only more water. She will make a request for subsidies for the project and, once they are granted, will get back to us to provide banana fibers for testing.
U presented a list of herbs she googled in some German online herb shops
U mentioned the company S, a big medicinal producer. They stopped buying herbs and other materials in Europe after the Tchernobyl explosion and installed a contract farming in Chile where they can be sure that the air, the water and the land are clean and nothing nuclear is in sight. They have 600 ha land under contract there.
D sent us two links about community supported farming in other countries: the farmers can depend on some support by the final customers who in turn can be certain that they will be supplied with produce:

G will organize a visit to the Ribeiro Seco Sugar Cane factory. They should be able to produce crystallized and organic sugar.
We spoke about the tax situation of the farmers. No-one is happy that the farmers have to submit to IRC and IVA now, but at least they can fill our receipts by hand. Much of the economy will stay unregistered. Filipe reported that some people split up their land and register each part with a different family member, from grandma to baby, and each person in the household has a right to an annual subsidy of 500 euro. They are all supposed to farm their land, but they don’t; if an inspection is coming, they are warned so that they can plant a bit before the check. Smarty-pants farmers…
Near F’s place is an old installation to fabricate oils, David is interested to see it.

25 Reunião Madeira Consórcio (Agricultura) 21.3.2013 – English version below
Olá equipe,
Tivemos uma primeira reunião interessante com o equipe do F. e espero que possamos trabalhar com este grupo numa base regular, eu acho que nós podemos conseguir bastante juntos!
Com eles, temos acesso ao terrenos em Tabua, Ponta do Pargo, Ponta do Sol. Santo da Serra, Funchal, Faial / Santana e S. Cruz.
Nós tivemos uma discussão animada sobre os prós e contras de muitas plantas, com IPad do N. como ajudante. N. pode fornecer muitas sementes e plantas para os outros membros do grupo e dar conselhos sobre o cultivo.
U. apresentou as indicações de preços que recebeu de E., com os preços actuais pagos por a empresa da para os óleos essenciais
Falavamos sobre os indicadores de preços do grossista e sobre a Proposta de preço do transporte para a exportação da Madeira para Hamburgo
Como agora temos um grupo com vários agricultores, U. irá escrever ao Dr. S e informá-lo de nosso progresso. Ele prometeu escrever um artigo científico para assinalar que a ilha é ideal para isso. Isto deve trazer-nos pedidos de esta indústria para citações e de cooperação.
U também vai reanimar um contato com o sobre Lippia Dulcis.
O projeto Banana-Fibra não consegue avançar, porque a Universidade não libera os estudos de banana que eles têm. U vai entrar em contato com outra agencia para ver se eles têm algo que pode entregar.
F tem um site novo agradável com uma loja online em várias línguas, os membros pudessem cooperar com ele para vender os produtos através desta loja. Dê uma olhada em: http://www.alvesdebarros.com/ (ainda precisa de um pouco de ajustes)

We had an interesting first meeting with F’s Team and I hope that we can work with this group on a regular basis, I think we can achieve quite a lot together!
With them, we have access to land in Tabua, Ponta do Pargo, Ponta do Sol. Santo da Serra, Funchal, Faial/Santana and S. Cruz.
We had a lively discussion about the pro’s and con’s of many plants, with N’s IPad as helper. N can provide many seeds and plants for the other members of the group and give advice on the cultivation.
U. mentioned that the Quinta Pedagogica has a dehydration machine , which could be used in exchange for animal feed or work. N. has a drying machine as well.
U presented the price indications she received with the actual prices the company is actually paying for essential oils.
We discussed the price indicators from the wholesaler and the offer for the export to Hamburg
As we now have a group with several farmers, U. will write to Dr. S. and inform him of our progress. He promised to write a scientific article for the Industry to point out that the island is ideal for this. This ought to bring us requests from this industry for quotes and cooperation.
The Banana-Fiber project does not get forward because the University does not release the Banana studies they have. Ursula will get in touch with another agency to see if they have something they can hand out.
F. has a nice new website with an online shop in several languages, members could perhaps co-operate with him to sell their goods via this shop. Have a look at: http://www.alvesdebarros.com/ (still needs a bit of tweaking)

24 Reunião do Madeira Consórcio (ToBinG) 14.3.2013 – English version below
Desta vez, D. veio do Algarve e nos contou sobre o novo sistema de energia solar que ele instalou em sua casa.
A empresa no Algarve encomenda a maioria dos materiais da China. A instalação na casa de D. levou algum tempo, porque ele foi o primeiro cliente, e uma peça defeituosa teve de ser enviado de volta, e a empresa não tem muito em estoque ainda.
O sistema precisa de 8 painéis solares, um inversor (para transformar a tensão em 220V, tamanho de um computador de mesa), um controlador (que liga/desliga o sistema e mostra a produção), quatro grandes baterias de chumbo /ácido, alguns tubos e cabos. A instalação é feita por um soldador e eletricista.
Primeiro, a empresa mede o consumo real por 2-3 dias para ver o que o tamanho do sistema é necessário.
No caso de D., 1.2 – 1.7KW. Dennis ordenou um sistema de 3KW (custo 5,500 euros), mais tarde, ele atualizou para 5KW (7,700 €), porque então ele pode conectar outros sistemas para o inversor e controlador também. O melhor ângulo para os painéis solares é determinado – D. tem oito painéis de 2 m2 cada.
O sistema foi instalado fora da vista em um telhado da garagem e fornece pelo menos ½, provavelmente até ¾ das necessidades de energia da casa (ainda muito cedo para dizer). Dennis não quer deixar a rede publica totalmente, vai continuar a pagar a EDP (EEM), porque podia precisar de eletricidade deles em caso de emergências.
Como o sistema não faz parte da rede do EDP, dentro parte da propriedade privada, a EDP não precisa mesmo de saber que o sistema está lá. D. está usando a produção apenas para si mesmo e não vendê-lo para a EDP, não há necessidade de uma licença.
A EDP vende sistemas que são muito mais caros. Os “donos” só podem vender a EDP (nada para o consumo privado) e da EDP determina o preço está disposto a pagar para a produção.
O sistema será pago em 2-3 anos. A garantia é de 5 anos em 95% de capacidade, e co uma capacidade de 80% durante mais de 5 anos.
A empresa está pesquisando pequenas turbinas Maglev (levitação magnética, sem atrito e sem decadência material) de vento, mas até agora, os preços que eles ofereciam a D. são muito altos. D. pode facilmente adicionar uma turbina eólica ou dois para o inversor e controlador.
Ele já adiciononou uma bomba de água (do tamanho de um frigorífico grande, 110 l) para aquecer a casa com um sistema já instalado no chão. Isto poupa uma grande quantidade de dinheiro em comparação com a caldeira de gás, mas é não aquecer a água para cima o suficiente para tomar ducha para várias pessoas ao mesmo tempo.

Hello Team,
this time, D. came over from the Algarve and told us about the new, inexpensive solar system he installed in his house.
The company is in the Algarve, they order most of the materials from China. D.s’ installation took some time because it was the first one, and one part had to be sent back as it was faulty, and the company doesn’t have much in stock yet.
The system needs 8 solar panels, an inverter (to turn the voltage into 220V, size of a desktop PC), a controller (which switches the system on and off and shows the production), four big lead/acid batteries, some pipes and cables. The instalation is done by a welder and an electrician.
First, the company measures the actual consumption for 2-3 days to see what system size is needed. In D.s’ case, 1.2 – 1.7KW. He ordered a 3KW system (cost 5.500 Euro), later he upgraded to 5KW (7.700 euro) because he then can connect other systems to the inverter and controller as well. The best angle for the solar panels is determined – D. has 8 panels at 2 m2 each.
The system was installed out of sight on a garage roof and provides at least ½ ,probably up to ¾ of the house’s energy needs (still too early to say). He does not want to go off the grid totally, he will keep paying EDP (EEM) because he might need “outside” electricity in case of emergencies.
As the system not on the EDP grid, as part of the private house, the EDP does not even need to know that the system is there. D. is using the production only for himself and does not sell it to the EDP, there is no need for a license.
The EDP sells systems which are much more expensive. The “owners” can only sell to the EDP (nothing for private consumption) and the EDP determines the price is is willing to pay for the production.
The system will be paid back in 2-3 years. The company guarantee is for 5 years at 95% capacity, and gurantees a capacity of 80% for another 5 years.
The company is researching small Maglev (magnetic levitation, no friction and no material decay) Wind Turbines as well, so far, the prices they offered to D. are too high. He can easily add a wind turbine or two to the inverter and controller.
He has already added a water pump (the size of a big fridge, 110 l) to heat the house with an already installed floor heating system. This saves a lot of money in comparison with the gas boiler but is does not heat the water up enough to take several showers at the same time.

tivemos uma reunião interessante!
D. está em contato com outro carpinteiro, um conhecido de N., como carpintaria do N. tem muito o que fazer e N. está muito ocupado com isso. Sr. E. irá produzir as bases, em seguida, vai para Camacha para colocar o topo.
Solução híbrido para a compra de habitação: a empresa de D. no Algarve (www.eurofinesco.com) tem o primeiro cliente potencial para isso. Este será um bom teste para o híbrido.
D. tem um sistema solar instalado em sua casa no Algarve, que não está ligado à rede elétrica não caros. Ele produz a eletricidade só para si, o que não exige uma licença. Hello Team,
we had an interesting meeting with two new contacts
Other news: D. is in contact with another carpenter, an acquaintance of N., as N’s carpentry has too much to do and N. is too busy with it. Sr. E. will produce the bases of the basket, then it goes to Camacha for the top.
Hybrid solution : D’ company in the Algarve (www.eurofinesco.com) has the first potential client for this, for a 10 year contract . This will be a good test case for the Hybrid.
D. has a solar system installed on his house in the Algarve which is not connected to the electricity grid and not expensive. He produces electricity only for himself; this does not require a license. He will tell us about it in the ToBinG group next week. The company in the Algarve will turn this into a franchise someone could take this franchise up in Madeira.

W22 reunião Madeira Consórcio (ToBinG) 21.2.2013 – English version below
Tivemos uma reunião agradável, falamos sobre o desenvolvimento atual das ideias e ainda teve tempo para discutir o projeto de digitalização do Google, Simplex e os princípios da Contraditorio em Lisboa.
O advogado foi um no-show novamente, U. vai tentar encontrar outros candidatos.
E. Silva: U. reuniu-se com o jornalista e deu-o informações básicas sobre nós, ele deu os contactos dos colegas dos vários departamentos, por fim de entregar informacoes no futuro.
Ele também sugeriu contatar o CEIM para implementar ideias porque eles têm jovens empreendedores que procuram produtos.
Ainda a ser feito: uma visita à fábrica de cana de açúcar “Ribeiro Seco”, no Funchal, que produz mel de cana do açúcar orgânico, D. está interessado nisso. G. vai organizar uma visita em abril, quando eles estão abertos para a produção.
U. vai se reunir com agricultores do Filipe em 28 de fevereiro, para informar sobre o potencial de exportação. Ela vai repetir a informação para AJAMPS em 1 de março em sua sede, a fim de obter os agricultores a trabalhar connosco.

We had a nice meeting, we spoke about the current idea development and even had some time to discuss the Google Digitalization project, Simplex and the principles of Contraditorio in Lisbon.
The lawyer was a no-show again, U. will try to find other candidates.
E. Silva: U. met with the journalist and gave his the basic info about us; she got the info on which persons to contact in the Diario for stories in the future. E. suggested to contact the Technopolo, CEIM and another institution there, to hand ideas to them because they have young entrepreneurs looking for products.
Still to be done: a visit to the Sugar cane factory “Ribeiro Seco” in Funchal, they produce organic sugar cane syrup, and D. is interested in it. G. will set up a visit in April when they are open for production.
U. will meet with Filipe’s farmers next on Feb 28, to inform about the export potential. She will repeat the info to AJAMPS on March 1 in their headquarters, in order to get the farmers to work with us. .

21 reunião do Madeira Consórcio Acta (ToBinG) 7.2.2013 English version below
Olá equipe,
tivemos uma reunião incrível, foi muito interessante, e esperamos que G. pode obter algum negócio com isso!
O advogado foi um no-show novamente, Ursula vai ir atrás dele na próxima semana.
Contraditorio tem um novo site (www.contraditorio.pt) agora, e as coisas estão a avançar, papel de U vai ser publicado em breve. O máximo: Contraditorio foi convidado pela “Open Society Institute” de apresentar-se, talvez para conseguir um convite para aderir a esta organização, que foi fundada por George Soros.
Ursula tinha um encontro marcado com o jornalista do Diario, mas o pai dele morreu, assim ele vai agendar uma nova reunião na próxima semana.

Falavamos brevemente sobre IOUs (“eu devo a você”) como moeda de substituição, mas não tinhamos tempo suficiente, este é um tema em curso.
Eng. Jan H. da Polónia (vive na Suíça, sua filha vive aqui) se juntou a nós para nos informar sobre o projeto que eles têm para a produção de bio-diesel a partir de resíduos orgânicos e outros (ver site: http://www.omegaeco.com). Muito interessante! Eles também podem usar o fiteira e outras folhas orgânicas para a produção de bio-diesel em um novo processo. A Camara poderia instalar centros de colheita e pagar uma pequena taxa para a fiteira coleitada nas florestas pelas pessoas pobres. Isso ajudaria a população e diminuiava o risco de incêndios. Os detalhes do processo são muito numerosas para serem aqui descritas. G. vai se reunir com ele, esperamos que ele possa cooperar com a empresa!

21 Madeira Consorcio Meeting Minutes (ToBinG) 7.2.2013
We had an amazing meeting, it was very interesting, and we hope that G. can get some business out of it!
The lawyer was a no-show again, Ursula will go after him next week.
Contraditorio has a new website (www.contraditorio.pt) now, and things are moving forward, U’s paper will be published soon. The kicker: Contraditorio has been invited by the Open Society Institute to present itself, maybe to get an invitation to join this organization, which was founded by George Soros.
U. had a meeting set up with the journalist from the Diario but his father died so he will set up a new meeting next week.
We will make an appointment with F. to visit his jam factory after the inauguration. We can also visit the Sugar Cane Factory near the Hospital; they now produce organic sugar (from one organic sugar plantation on the island), David wants to know if they could produce powdered sugar for jams.
Eng. Jan H. from Poland (lives in Switzerland, his daughter lives here) joined us to inform us more about the project they have to produce bio-diesel from organic and other waste (see site: http://www.omegaeco.com). Very Interesting!! They could also use the fiteira and other organic leaves to produce bio-diesel in a new process. A City Hall could install collection centers and pay out a small fee for the fiteira collected in the forests by the poor people. This would help the population and lower the danger of undergrowth fires. The details of the process are too numerous to be described here. G. will get together with him, hopefully he can cooperate with the company

20. reunião da Madeira Consórcio (Agricultura) 31.1.2013
Olá equipe,
tivemos uma reunião interessante, com uma ideia nova. Infelizmente, nenhum dos contactos agrícolas esperávamos assistir, veio. O advogado não poderia fazê-lo; Ursula vai continuar a convidá-lo. E. vai convidar mais uma vez um professor da UMa, talvez a gente tem que ter uma reunião em separado com ele.
Ursula distribuiu uma lista de produtos agrícolas e clientes para os quais precisamos produtores. Negócio está acenando!
Para Venda:
23.000 m2 de terreno, cerca de 700m de altura, acima da Ribeira Brava, pode por certificado para uso orgânico, para 100.000 euros. O proprietário é um amigo de E., também esta interessado em trocar com uma casa no Funchal (um s.r. de idade).
Discutimos os efeitos positivos de culturas probióticas, Egberto usa-los para este pão. Eles também estão contidos no kefir. tempeh, miso, tofu e arroz de sushi. Este pode ser um produto, se pode ser produzido num ambiente higiénico.

Hello Team,
we had an interesting meeting, with a new idea. Unfortunately, none of the of the agricultural contacts we hoped would attend, came. The lawyer couldn’t make it; Ursula will continue to invite him. E will try to get a Prof. from the UMa to come, maybe we have to have a separate meeting with him.
Ursula distributed a list of agricultural products and clients for which we need producers. Business is beckoning!
For sale:
23.000 m2 of land, around 700m high, above Ribeira Brave, can by certified for organic use, for 100.000 euro. The owner is a friend of Egberto’s, he would also swap with a house in Funchal (he is quite old).
We discussed the positive effects of probiotic cultures, Egberto uses them for this bread. They are also contained in kefir. miso, tempeh, tofu and sushi rice. This could be a product if it can be produced in a hygienic environment.
As always: Please keep our ideas confidential, they are no good if they get into the wrong hands!

19 Reunião Madeira Consórcio (ToBinG) 14.1.2013 Excerpt – English version below
Tivemos uma reunião interessante, com ênfase em projetos de Filipe.
Na próxima semana, um jovem advogado, irá se juntar a nós e esperamos que se tornar um membro activo ou, pelo menos, um membro associado.
A palestra sobre a emigração ocorreu em 18 de janeiro, 10 pessoas compareceram, eles pesnavam o conteúdo útil. U. vai falar com um conctato na UMa para ver se ela deve repetir a palestra lá.
A Universidade de Verão: E. e U. tiveram uma segunda reunião com a escola, yessss, eles estão dispostos a ajudar organizar o evento!
Mosquito Killers: G. recebeu as unidades pequenas, mas em um preço muito alto e com muita complicação. U. vai escrever para um contacto austríaco, que tem uma empresa de importação e exportação para o entretenimento eletrônico, para ver se ele pode recomendar uma empresa de controle de qualidade na China (diminuir o risco) e uma empresa de transporte bom para facilitar uma melhor importação da China.
Parceria Matéria-prima: V. terá um estudo da Universidade da Madeira Banana para enviar para o homem herdeiro nas Ilhas Canárias, em seguida, U. irá entrar em contacto com ele.
Projetos de Filipe:
Ele tem um terreno de 9.000 m2 (ainda não testado e aprovado para orgânico) em Machico, ele ainda não sabe o que a cultivar nele. O grupo sugeriu-lhe para ir orgânica.
Filipe abriu uma pequena fábrica de marmelada numa antiga casa de sua família em Machico. O local está instalado e funcionando, ele convidou AJJ para abri-lo oficialmente. O obstáculo: o Governo Regional construiu uma nova estrada na frente da casa, agora não tem condições de ser usados para qualquer coisa, porque é muito perto da nova estrada. Filipe vai escrever para AJJ para ver se ele pode corrigir isso, este podia funcionar.
Ele está produzindo marmelada de Tomate Ingles, Maracuja e Physalis, ele planeja adicionar um Chutney. Grao d’Uva, no Funchal já está vendendo seus doces. Ele também produz polpa de fruta natural, para vender aos restaurantes e hotéis para pudim Maracuja, Poncha e milk-shakes. Inteligente!
Nós experimentamos os produtos, são muito bons. Como ele pretende exportá-los, o grupo sugeriu usar menos açúcar e mais pectina (a marmelada tem que ser firme para o gosto dos estrangeiros).
U. irá enviar-lhe alguns contactos da Câmara de Comércio bilateral (Portugal-Alemanha). Como membros eles vão ajudá-lo a encontrar clientes ou empresas grossistas para a exportação.

We had an interesting meeting, with emphasis on Filipe’s projects.
Next week, a young lawyer, will join us and hopefully become an active or at least an associate member.
The lecture on emigration took place on January 18, 10 persons attended, they found the content useful. U. will talk to a contact at the UMa to see if she should repeat the lecture there.
The Summer University: E. and U. had a second meeting with IPTL, yessss, they are willing to help organize the event!
Mosquito Killers: G. received the small socket units but at too high a price and with much complication. U. will write to an Austrian contact who has an import export company for entertainment electronics, to see if he can recommend a quality control firm in China (lower the risk) and a good transport company to facilitate a better import from China.
Raw Material Partnership: V. will get a University study of the Madeira Banana to send to heir man on the Canary Islands, then U. will get in touch with him.
Filipe’s projects:
He has a piece of land of 9000 m2 (not yet tested and approved for organic) in Machico; he doesn’t yet know what to cultivate on it. The group urged him to go organic.
Filipe opened a small jam factory in an old house of his family in Machico. The place is up and running, he invited AJJ to open it officially. The obstacle: the Regional Government built a new road in front of the house, now it does not have the conditions to be used for anything because it is too close to the new road. Filipe will write to AJJ to see if he can fix this, this may very well work.
He is producing jams from Tomate Ingles, Maracuja and Physalis, he plans to add a Chutney. Grao d’Uva in Funchal is already selling his jams. He also produces natural fruit pulp, to sell to the restaurants and hotels for Maracuja pudding, Poncha and milk shakes. Clever!
We tasted the products, they are very good. As he plans to export them, the group suggested to use less sugar and more pectin (the jam has to be firm for the foreigners’ taste).
U. will send him some contacts from the bilateral Chamber of Commerce (Portugal-Germany). If he joins the Chamber, they will help him find clients or wholesale companies for the export.
