We met in the Gallery and saw this video:
Adam Bry: The invisible infrastructure in the sky | TED Talk
Mr. Bry comes from a family of sheep farmers in Tasmania /Australia. He saw the problems the farmers had to control large swaths of land and their cattle and he came up with the idea to use drones for it. He and a friend of his started to build and develop drones for specific purposes. Later, more and more people and companies came up to him and asked him to build drones from scratch for their problem solving. He did that and now he has a big company that produces custom-built drones for specific purposes. (https://www.skydio.com/)
Drones can be used for weed elimination on dam walls, to place prisms for laser connections, to start fire lanes in the forest to prevent wild fires from jumping to other parts of the forest.
On Madeira, the Civil Protection uses drones to find missing people in the forest, and the Bombeiros use them to spot smoke lines in the forest, a first indicator of a starting fire.
Private persons may fly drones on the island, but only with a Pilot license, a civil damages insurance and licenses from ANAC, AAN and depending on where they want to fly them, the Forest Police and/or the Capitania. (Google: “licencas para voar drones em Portugal”).
The Portuguese state is controlling the Desertas and the Selvagens by drone. For the Selvagens, they also need to station people there, to protect the sovereignty (against the Spanish and the Russians etc).
Amazon does deliveries in certain areas, medicine is being dropped from drones (plop!), but by now, drugs and phones are also delivered via drones into prisons. Avery technology can be used for good but also for evil.
Fireworks are also being accompanied by drones now.
The Ukraine war shows that drones have completely changed the war situation. The Germans are paying a lot for new tanks which, we already know now, will be useless in any future wars because they can be attacked and outsmarted by drones.
Small drones, in the size of a mosquito, can be used to spying on people, and they may even be used to apply poison to persons.
We also spoke about AI, which is used in the drone software. Sam has good knowledge of this, she uses ChatGPT. She has found out how to stop it from diverging her intention to lines of thought she doesn’t want to follow. ChatGPT and other programs invent “facts” and lie if allowed. ChatGPT is not a person.
Trump forbade Anthropic to allow foreigners the use of their AI software. Apparently, the Americans are worried that the Russians or the Chines might get in and corrupt it for their purposes. Anthropic is going to sue the US government because forbidding other countries to use it, ruins their business.
We also spoke about Musk and other billionaires. There should be a maximum wage per hour for them. The Rich are getting too powerful, and on top, as the Epstein connections show. they may be corrupt to the bone.
We, The People, should be always aware that the AI systems are used to dumb us down. We need to ascertain our intentions and do not allow them to turn us into stupid cash cows for the Rich. Once we are out of work, we should stop using the big Software setups from the USA. Paypal can be replaced by Wero in Europe. The banks and big shops have to start offering this payment method. European software companies can come up with our own AI software. European data need to stay in Europe.
